Meet the team: First

We would like to introduce you to First Sukpaiboon!

As Creative Strategist, First brings her exciting and diverse experience to the spacelab_ team. In 2020, she lead a new museum in Thailand, which was based on the incident of 13 boys who were trapped in Thailand’s cave. She was also a founder of a coffee business in Hackney – HER, who's products were stocked in Selfridges and Whole Food stores across London. Prior to Spacelab_, First's most recent role saw her as the Head of Programme at New London Architecture. And her own research project ‘Vertical Farming Intervention for Unused Spaces’ was funded by the Foundation for Future London to deliver a pilot and design prototype.

First has appeared on several podcasts sharing her experience on how to reassess success and focus on what matters - she is determined to leave a legacy through her work and contribution.

We can't wait for everyone to get to know her a little bit more...

Tell us a little bit about you, your background and what's your position at spacelab_?

With over 10 years experience, I am architecturally trained with a master’s in urban planning and expertise in narrative design. My projects range from product launch, museum to programme curation. As well as being a lover of sports, travels, and foods, I am passionate about people, the city and climate. My post here is a Creative Strategist, leading all things strategic to help us grow our business, explore our aspirations and maintain our values.

What inspires you?

Anything and everything, people and behaviour in particular.

What do you like the most about your work?

It flourishes my curiosity and allows me to explore possibilities, which is crucial in delivering my best work.

What would your ideal project be?

Developing our own (productive) city where there is food production through vertical farming, maker space, co-working, cafe, retails and community hub where we can exchange ideas, and learn and train new skills.

What made you want to join the lab_?

The ethos and values of the lab_.

If you could change one thing within the industry, what would it be?

Work together, rather than against each other.
